ADVENTURESS is a free digital magazine tailored for women who hunt and fish. With articles written by and photos showcasing fellow outdoor women, it is intending to inspire women to try new things and inform them for greater skills in anything outdoors.

The magazine can be viewed from any digital device (computer, laptop, smartphone, tablet) as well as downloaded as a PDF for personal storage and offline viewing. Past articles can be found in blog format and searchable on the website.

Founder Jennifer Pudenz created ADVENTURESS in 2014, launching the first issue in spring of 2015. Growing up on a farm with a father who is an avid bowhunter, Jennifer was raised living an outdoor lifestyle and appreciating the land around her. Her passion for the land grew even more when eminent domain abuse came knocking at her family’s door, and they found themselves in a political fight to keep their land. She became a ghostwriter for the community being affected as well as picketed and talked with representatives and senators until they won.

After graduating with a journalism and design double major in college, Jennifer went on to become editor and a designer for The Iowa Sportsman and Family Fish & Game magazines, winning a NICHE magazine award in her reign. During this time, she also created a petition and collected hundreds of signatures to help pass Iowa’s first dove hunting season.

From shooting a bow by the age of 4 years old, loving to fish throughout her youth, finding a green thumb for gardening in high school, developing into an avid bowhunter in college and learning about gun hunting through her 20s, Jennifer’s love for the outdoors turned into a desire to be a total outdoorswoman. Today, she can’t learn enough as she is always working on something new and it is her passion to help others learn or share their knowledge.

Through ADVENTURESS, she strives to highlight fellow outdoor women who deserve to be featured for their accomplishments, knowledge, writing and photography, but haven’t because of the few opportunities for outdoor women to grace the covers or be published in hunting and fishing magazines. Jennifer finds it important to provide good, inspiring role models for both youth and the outdoors.
